4-6 yrs M-F 1week 9:00-3:00 or 9:00-12:00 French or Spanish Our youngest students are introduced to Spanish or French through songs, dances, games, finger plays & movement. The very active curriculum includes cultural crafts, cooking & field trips. Come see the kids perform on the last day! Great themes for Spanish: Hola, me llamo..., Fiesta Fiesta, Salsa SIllies, Mariachi Madness or new for this year - Let's Go! El Circo! French themes include: Bonjour, ca va?, Les Petit Patissier My Little Matisse and Let's Go! Le Cirque. Imagine your little one in a beret and a paint smock happily singing a color song in French as she splashes watercolor onto an easel. For a moment she is an impressionist painter in Paris! Or imagine your little guy in a sombrero marching with maracas as he bids good morning to his group all in Spanish. These are just a few of the many excellent language activities we have designed to bring foreign language alive for our youngest campers. From puppets and echo chants during circle time to preparing fresh tortillas to playing, une, deux, trois, le soleil! in the park, every moment is deliberately constructed to take advantage of your childıs amazing capacity to absorb languages. We have combined more than 30 years of expertise in the area of language learning and child development, plus the nurturing professionalism of our teachers to bring to your child two delightful summer weeks and the beginning of an invaluable, life-long skill. Preschool Summer Immersion 3-5 years French or Spanish 8 weeks thru the summer starts week of July 7-Aug 29 (1 month also available, call to register) The Immersion for Preschoolers class runs just like our regular school year preschool, but with the addition of summer friendly themes. Enroll your child as a preview for the fall or to keep them involved during the summer break. Spanish on Tuesdays & Fridays, French on Wednesdays & Fridays - 9:00 12:00. New & current students enroll early - it is very popular! This morning session will reflect some of our yearlong activities including circle time, calendar work, large motor skill activities, foreign language development focus themes plus a few exciting projects including a sea-life mural and a carrousel of children around the world. Our warm teachers and immersion approach make it possible for kids to comfortably join at any time. A great option if our camp dates donıt match your vacation schedule. Kids love to cook. What better way to expose your child to another language but in the medium they so naturally respond to! Fun and traditional recipes made with love. Spanish - Cook delights such as coco rico, arroz con leche,cascara de papa & of course tortillas! French - Oui Oui for la salade Niçoise, le croque-monsieur, mousse au chocolat and naturally - les crepes! Cooking is a wonderful together-time activity, one that meets their needs to touch, do, create and importantly TASTE! Cooking is the perfect medium to introduce a foreign language and culture! Itıs hands-on, visual nature makes it perfectly suited to the best language methodology, the immersion approach. Your kids learn little songs and rhymes as they grind spices with a mortar and pestle, count out raisins for "Arroz con Leche", repeat commands as they stack up little "tapas" platters, smell fresh basil and grate parmesan over orzo pasta, and dance "en rond", in charming traditional aprons. This class is scheduled from 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon so there is still time for a nap! I am a big-kid language camp 6-8 yrs M-F 1 week 9:00-3:00 or 9:00-noon French or Spanish In our immersion camps kids learn to speak Spanish, French or Italian by"doing". Activity oriented, hands-on, full of field trips, games, cultural crafts and cooking. Your child will be able to use greetings, basic questions & answers and vocabulary while having a fabulous time! Come explore our Spanish camps: Fiesta en Espanol, Castles in Spain, Spain & Me and new this year Incredible Incas. Jump aboard the French camps themes: Fabulous French Artists or Tour de France! Spanish or French 'Awesome Vacation' Camp Or new this year: Mayan Mysteries -or-Kings & Castles of France 8-10 yrs M-F 1 week 9:00-3:00 or 9:00-noon French or Spanish We have designed these immersion camp specifically for children in the 8-10 year old age group. These camps will teach the target language as well as introduce the history, culture and geography of many countries. Your child will be able to use greetings, basic questions/answers and vocabulary while having a fabulous yet educational time. Take the camp this summer, and your 8-10 year old can start Spanish (or French) Conversation #1 in the Fall! A great value - 5 hours of immersion/day.
